Nominees for Milestone Moment

John Grant Jr., Mammoth (NLL Scoring Record)
The 37-year-old set a new National Lacrosse League single-season scoring record, surpassing the mark of 115 points set by John Tavares in 2001. He got the record April 28 in the Colorado Mammoth's 16-13 win over Minnesota. The milestone was one of many for Grant in just the NLL season. He recorded his 1,000th point and 500th goal of his storied career earlier in the season.

Kathy Jenkins, St. Stephen's/Agnes (600 Wins)
Jenkins became just the second high school girls' lacrosse coach in the country to reach 600 wins, joining Angela Tammaro of Greenwich (Conn.) Academy on the exclusive list. Jenkins has been the head coach at St. Stephen's & St. Agnes since 1976, winning 24 conference titles and posting eight undefeated seasons.

Mike Messere, West Genesee (HS Wins Record)
Messere became the all-time winningest high school coach in the country by earning win No. 748 this spring to pass former Ward Melville (N.Y.) and Mount Sinai (N.Y.) coach Joe Cuozzo on the national wins list. This season was Messere's 50th anniversary of his senior season at West Genesee as a player. The Hall of Fame coach has led the Wildcats for the last 36 seasons, winning 15 state titles.

Cindy Timchal, Navy (400 Wins)
The 2012 National Lacrosse Hall of Fame inductee surpassed 400 wins this spring, becoming the first men's or women's college lacrosse coach at any level to reach the milestone. It came March 7 in an 18-8 victory over Robert Morris on Navy's home turf in Annapolis, Md. Timchal, beginning with her first year at a brand new Northwestern program in 1982, won 76 games in nine years with the Wildcats then captured eight national championships and 260 wins in 16 years at Maryland (1991-2006) before arriving at Navy.

Zed Williams, Silver Creek (NY Scoring Record)
In June, Williams, a Silver Creek junior, took over the title of New York state's all-time points leader with 554, passing Casey Powell, who held the record for 18 years. Williams has been on Silver Creek's varsity team since the eighth grade and has a chance to become the nation's all-time leading scorer during his senior season.
