Allow Me To Reintroduce Myself...

I'm physically sitting in the same seat I was a week ago, but the circumstances have changed. Thanks to former editor Matt DaSilva taking over the reins of Lacrosse Magazine a few months ago, that left an opening for his old job. And allow me to report that I'm fortunate enough to have stepped into the role, after about 15 months as a staff writer for both our print and web publications.

Matt did quite an amazing job building the website from the ground up, capping it off with the redesigned site you see here. (And, hey, he recruited me as freelance writer back in 2007 when I was still in college; good call). The fact that I'm able to even write this blog in this forum is because of him.

In the short term, the plan is to continue off of what's already in place because, judging by the numbers, more and more people keep coming to the site. In the long term, my plan is to continue to make sure is a destination for all fans of lacrosse: men's and women's, Division I to club to youth and pro and whatever else pops up along the way as this sport keeps growing. And, of course, you can find all info here on US Lacrosse's U.S. national teams and what's going on at USL as well.

So, basically, I just wanted to reintroduce myself. For those die-hard fans of "Tuesdays with Corey," have no fear, it likely won't be going anywhere. But my focus is shifting to arranging for all readers to have the best lacrosse content out there to satisfy your lacrosse fix and/or distract you from the school or work day. You'll get news, features and analysis from our great staff and the best writers out there, along with photos from top photographers, videos, podcasts and the like.

If you don't already, follow us on Twitter @LacrosseMag and on Facebook at "Lacrosse Magazine." It's the most direct way to get the content you want delivered to your phone, computer or whatever you use.

Right now, voting is ongoing for Lacrosse Magazine's "Best of Lacrosse 2011" awards for our December issue. Vote for men's and women's honors, and best game, upset and breakthrough. Your votes will be published in the magazine, alongside our staff picks in each category. And next week, look for fall ball coverage, special stories leading up to the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame ceremony Saturday, Oct. 29, and more. By then, I might physically be in my new seat in the office.

It's great to be here and I welcome your comments at Or on the Twitter machine, @Corey_McL.
