from press release

– The Holy Cross men's lacrosse program has named seniors Douglas Broussard (Floral Park, N.Y.), Colin Flood (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and Conor McKenna (Summit, N.J.) as 2011 team captains. "Like our entire senior class, these three kids work very hard," said Holy Cross head coach Adam Pascal. "They bring a ton of experience and always display great effort. They are outstanding leaders."

Last season, Broussard earned second team All-New England and All-Patriot League honors. He was only the fourth Crusader to receive All-Patriot League accolades and the first since 2002. Broussard picked up a career-best 73 ground balls last season to lead the team as he has 137 ground balls for his career which are the most by any current Crusader. His 4.87 ground balls per game were third in the Patriot League and 18th nationally. He also had a career-year offensively as he recorded two goals and three assists for five points. Broussard has played in 44 career games with three goals and four assists for seven points.

Flood has played in 39 career games with 23 starts. He has scored 19 career goals and has nine assists for 28 points. He has also picked up 28 career ground balls. As a freshman, Flood was fifth on team with 10 goals, tied for fifth with four assists and fifth with 14 points, while as a sophomore he was ranked fourth on the team with eight goals and was fifth with four assists for 12 points.

McKenna has played in every game over the past three seasons and led the Crusaders with a career-best 11 assists as a sophomore in 2009. In three seasons, he has posted 10 goals and 14 assists for 24 points with 84 ground balls. This past season he was third on the team with a career-best 34 ground balls. McKenna has been a star in the classroom as he has been a member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll over the last three years, including this past season when he was just one of only eight student-athletes on the men's lacrosse Academic Honor Roll to have a 4.0 average or better.
