Video: Boston University Hosts Vermont

from Staff Reports | Twitter

Winless in its inaugural season, the Boston University men's lacrosse team has shown signs of improvement.

After mustering just nine goals combined in losses to Mercer and Canisius, the Terriers (0-4) took nationally ranked Lehigh to the wire in their Patriot League debut, losing 10-7. They lost to Providence by the same score.

Seventy-five percent of Boston University's roster is comprised of freshmen.

Goalie Christian Carson-Banister has 44 saves in the last three games and averages 12.25 saves per game, while the Terriers defense leads the Patriot League with 10.75 caused turnovers per game.

Attackman Pat Myers, coming off a three-goal performance against Providence, leads the team in both goals (six) and assists (five).

This is the fourth game of a five-game homestand for Boston University, against a Vermont team that just secured its first win of the season Tuesday. Freshman midfielder Ian MacKay, a Canadian product of The Hill Academy (Ontario), scored five goals in Vermont's 13-8 victory over Dartmouth.

This won't be Catamounts coach Ryan Curtis' first rodeo at Nickerson Field. The former Boston Cannons defenseman played there for three seasons when the Major League Lacrosse franchise called Nickerson Field its home.
