SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Junior midfielder Matt Chadderdon (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) scored three goals and dished out an assist to lead the 2nd-ranked Le Moyne College men’s lacrosse to a 15-6 win over Pace in Northeast-10 Conference action on Wednesday afternoon at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex.

Chadderdon scored twice in the opening 2:53 of the game to get the Dolphins on the scoreboard. Following a turnover by the Setters, graduate student defenseman Ryan Smith (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker/Hofstra) picked up the free ball, raced up the middle of the field and scored with 6:32 remaining in the first quarter for his first goal of the season. Senior midfielder Mike Rabbitt (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) increased the Le Moyne lead to 4-0 with an extra-man goal with just under five minutes left. Sophomore midfielder Mike Byrnes (Preble, N.Y./Tully) capped the quarter’s scoring with 50 seconds to give the Dolphins a five-goal advantage.

The Dolphins added five goals in the second quarter to take a 10-0 lead into the intermission. Chadderdon completed his hat trick at the 12:54 mark of the second quarter with unassisted marker. Junior attackman Jack Harmatuk (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy/Syracuse U.), the reigning Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week, tallied a man-up goal off a feed from Chadderdon with 7:07 left for a 7-0 lead. Just over three minutes later, Harmatuk found classmate Jack Venditti (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) to start a three-goal outburst over the final 3:47. After Pace scored the first two goals of the second half to get within 10-2, the Dolphins scored three goals over the final 4:30 of the third quarter. Senior Brian Orlando (Great Falls, Va./Flint Hill/Bridgton Academy) started the stretch with his second goal of the campaign. Off the ensuing face-off, junior Corey Bulken (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) found Connors in front of the net to increase the lead to 12-2. Rabbitt closed out the period with a goal off a pass from Byrnes at the 2:34 mark.

On the opening face-off of the fourth quarter, Alexander picked up a loose ball in front of the goal crease and tossed the ball into the back of the net. The Setters responded with three unanswered goals to make the score 14-5. John Kolesar scored a man-up goal off a pass from Thomas Earl, while Joseph Clark and Earl each scored unassisted goals. Junior long-stick midfielder Pat Moran (Troy, Mich./Detroit Jesuit) completed the Le Moyne scoring by finding the back of the net off a Pace turnover. Kevin Swierc delivered the final score for the Setters by scoring with 42 seconds left.

Freshman Jeff White (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius HS) made two saves without allowing a goal in the first half for the Dolphins.
