St. Michael's Stuns No. 6 Merrimack, 8-6

– The Merrimack men's lacrosse team was upset Wednesday afternoon, suffering its first conference loss at the hands of Saint Michael's College 8-6.

Merrimack fell behind early, trailing 3-1 late in the first and 5-3 at halftime, despite two first-half goals from Terence Barclay (Babylon, NY) and one from Corey Lunney (Little Silver, NJ).

The Purple knights opened the second half with three goals, taking an 8-3 lead after Kevin Hunt notched his sixth of the year with 3:02 left in the third quarter.

Merrimack didn't quit as Brad McAdam (Neshanic Station, NJ) scored before the end of the third, and Mike Perdie (Wading River, NY) notched his first collegiate goal in the fourth, while David Robinson (Lexington, MA) also scored, but it was not enough as Chris Demairo made two late saves for Saint Michael's.

Merrimack was outshot 38-21 in the loss, as Connor Reagan (East Lyme, CT) made nine saves. The Warriors killed six of seven man-down opportunities, while going 3-for-6 on the man-advantage.

Perdie led Merrimack with three assists and four points, while Barclay, Lunney, McAdam, and Robinson added a goal each.

Merrimack (5-2, 2-1 NE-10) will look to bounce back against Pace University Saturday at 3 p.m. at Warrior Field.
