from press press release

– Junior attackman Tyler Prevost (Watertown, N.Y./Immaculate Heart/Onondaga C.C.) scored three goals and dished out an assist to lead the second-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team to a 7-6 win over Saint Michael's on Saturday afternoon at Duffy Field.

The Purple Knights opened the game's scoring just 1:57 into the contest as Eva Antolino tallied his third goal of the season off a pass from Marty Vanzo.

Le Moyne scored the next three goals, in a span of 3:57, to take a 3-1 lead at the end of the first quarter. Prevost got the Dolphins on the scoreboard with 8:08 left off a pass from classmate Nate Frechette (Manlius, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy). The duo reversed roles with 4:52 remaining in an extra-man opportunity as Frechette netted his eighth goal of the season on Prevost's team-best 15th assist. Frechette gave the Dolphins a two-goal advantage with an unassisted goal with 4:11 left in the quarter.

Following a two-minute possession, Prevost recorded his 10th goal of the season with 11:04 remaining in the second quarter off a feed from sophomore midfielder Andrew Chadderdon (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn).

After seven minutes and 10 seconds of scoreless action, Vanzo pulled Saint Michael's within 4-2 with his 16th goal of the season. Freshman face-off specialist Joe Corapi (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) won the ensuing face-off, raced up field and fired in his first career goal at the 3:45 mark.

Saint Michael's scored the first two goals of the third quarter to cut Le Moyne's lead to 5-4. Tim McDonald scored an unassisted goal at the 10:54 mark, while Vanzo tallied his second goal of the day with 5:32 remaining in the quarter.

Prevost pushed Le Moyne's advantage back to two with 3:14 to go in the stanza with his 11th goal of the campaign.

Graduate student midfielder Tyler Sennett (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham) recorded his fifth goal of the year 2:53 into the fourth quarter to give the Dolphins a 7-4 lead and complete Le Moyne's scoring.

Vanzo scored twice in a span of 57 seconds midway through the quarter to close the Purple Knights within 7-6. Saint Michael's had five shots to try and tie the score in the final 5:34 of the contest, but could not find the back of the net. Two of the shots were saved by junior goalkeeper Jeff White (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius HS), while two shots were blocked, including the final attempt with three seconds left.

White, the Northeast-10 Conference goalkeeper of the week the last two weeks, made six saves in recording his 31st career victory. White's win total ties him with Doug McIver '09 for second on the program's all-time wins chart. Chris DeMairo turned away four shots in the setback for the Purple Knights.

Le Moyne (8-0, 3-0 NE-10), which won its 48th straight Northeast-10 Conference game, travels to Franklin Pierce on Wednesday for a 2:30 p.m. face-off.
