No. 7 W&L Cruises into ODAC Semifinals

LEXINGTON, Va. - The seventh-ranked and third-seeded Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team had 15 different players find the goal in producing a 25-3 victory over sixth-seeded Guilford in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament on Saturday afternoon at Wilson Field.

The Generals (13-3) outshot the Quakers, 71-14, and jumped out to a 9-2 lead at halftime. W&L then tallied 10 third quarter goals in scoring its most goals since a 26-4 win over Cabrini in 1999.

Junior attackman Will Keigler (Timonium, Md./Gilman) tallied four goals and three assists to lead the Generals' balanced scoring on the day. Sophomore midfielder Drew Koeneman (St. Louis, Mo./MICDS) scored four goals and sophomore attackman Spence Daw (Phoenix, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) had two goals and two assists. Senior midfielder Tim Skeen (Baltimore, Md./Towson) chipped in two goals and one assist, while junior midfielder Kevin Feeney (Summit, N.J./Summit) and first-year midfielder Luke Walter (Queenstown, Md./St. Andrew's School) had two goals each.

Senior Connor Locke (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes), junior Matt Mason (Gladwyne, Pa./St. Mark's) and sophomores Ned Lundvall (Richmond, Va./Gilman) and Jason Lumpkin (Baltimore, Md./Calvert Hall) all saw time in goal for W&L and combined to make four saves.

Guilford (3-12) was led by sophomore attackman Joey Chrisman's (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run) two goals. First-year midfielder Jake Beneke (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) scored the other goal for GC. First-year Ryan Walsh (Abington, Mass./Abington) played 45 minutes in goal and made 14 saves. Sophomore Mark Guillen (Ashburn, Va./Broad Run) played the other 15 minutes and stopped two shots.

Washington and Lee returns to action in the semifinals of the ODAC Tournament on Wednesday at Lynchburg College. The game time for the matchup with the Hornets is to be determined.
