from press release

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall head lacrosse coach Todd Cavallaro announced staff changes at F&M for the upcoming season. Dan Torie will join the staff this season as the Diplomats' defensive coordinator and Scott Meehan was promoted to offensive coordinator. Both will also serve as recruiting coordinators.

"I am very excited to have Dan on our sidelines," said Cavallaro. "He brings a wealth of knowledge and will be a tremendous mentor to our athletes."

Torie comes to F&M after spending the previous four seasons at Susquehanna. While in Selinsgrove, Torie was a member of the lacrosse staff that garnered the Landmark Conference Staff of the Year award in 2011 and helped the Crusaders to their first ever Landmark crown in 2013.

Torie graduated from Susquehanna in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in entrepreneurship. He was a standout midfielder for SU, and was elected as the Crusader's team captain as a junior and senior.

He began his coaching career as a student assistant at Susquehanna where he guided the defense and goalkeepers. Upon graduation, Torie was hired as the Assistant Coach and Defensive Coordinator at the Hendrix College Men's Lacrosse program in Conway, Arkansas.

A native of Wexford, Pa., he is a graduate of North Allegheny High School. While there, he was appointed to the All-Western Pennsylvania Scholastic Associated (WPSLA) Team as a keeper and was selected as the Keystone State Games Most Valuable Player in 2003.

Meehan returns for his second season after helping F&M make its first berth in the Centennial Conference playoffs since 2005 with an 11-6 mark.

"Scott has a tremendous work ethic and he will continue to develop our young men academically and athletically," commented Cavallaro.

Meehan came to F&M after playing four years at Washington & Lee. He was a four-year letter winner and a team captain while at W&L and tallied 52 goals and 41 assists during his career for the Generals.

A native of Baldwinsville, N.Y., Meehan lettered in lacrosse, basketball and soccer at Manlius-Pebble Hill School where he helped lead the soccer team to a pair of sectional championships. He was a captain of all three sports and a three-time lacrosse team MVP, as well as a two-time first team all-league pick in lacrosse and a first team all-league selection in soccer.
