Michigan, Tommies and More of Same

from staff reports

Michigan's days in the MCLA might be numbered, but LM preseason player of the year Trevor Yealy and the Wolverines are poised to go out on top.

Defending MCLA champions Michigan and St. Thomas earned No. 1 rankings from Lacrosse Magazine in its Division I and II preseason polls, respectively.

This season could very well be Michigan's swan song in the MCLA. The Wolverines have won three straight national titles and boast LM's MCLA Division I preseason player of the year, Trevor Yealy. Arizona State, Chapman, Colorado State and BYU round out the top five.

St. Thomas finished one of the most dominant seasons in the history of MCLA Division II and returns LM's preseason player of the year in attackman Joe Costello. Davenport, Utah Valley, Westminster and Grand Valley State round out the top five.

Rankings were compiled by LM staff with consultation from college coaches. Click here for more preseason projections.
