Vermont's Hatfield Picks Up Pair of Awards

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - University of Vermont freshman goalkeeper
Olivia Hatfield (Alpharetta, Ga.) was named the America East
Women's Lacrosse Defender of the Week and Rookie of the Week for
the period ending March 29. The conference office made the
announcement on Monday.
Hatfield earned the honor after posting a career-high 18 saves in an 11-6 victory over league foe UMBC on Saturday. She posted a 8.89 goals against average and .588 save percentage in a 1-1 week for the Catamounts. UVM also dropped a 14-8 decision to Boston College earlier in the week.
Hatfield's performance against UMBC was the best of the season. She is the team's top goalkeeper, owning a 6-4 record on the year. She ranks second in the conference in save percentage (.497), third in saves per game (8.73) and seventh in goals against average (10.25).
Hatfield is the third different freshman to earn America East Rookie of the Week honors this year.
Vermont stands at 7-4 overall and is 2-0 in America East. The Catamounts travel to Albany on Wednesday (April 1) for a 3 p.m. game at John Fallon Field.
