Dykstra Among PL Leaders in Multiple Categories

from press release

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore Lauren Dykstra (Mendham, N.J./ West Morris Mendham) was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday.  This is Dykstra’s third weekly award of the season and follows a week in which she scored eight goals, including the game-winner in Lehigh’s road win at Navy.  Dykstra’s three Offensive Player of the Week Awards this season are the most in the league.
On April 8 Dykstra found the back of the net five times versus No. 15 Penn State.  The Mendham, New Jersey native scored three of her goals in the second half as the Mountain Hawks outscored the Nittany Lions 7-6 in the final 30 minutes of play.  Dykstra also added one assist, six ground balls, three caused turnovers and one draw control.
In the Mountain Hawks win at Navy on April 11 Dykstra netted a hat trick, including the game-winner as the Brown and White moved one step closer to clinching a spot in the 2009 Patriot League Tournament.  She also totaled four ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers.
For the season Dykstra has scored 54 goals and registered 61 points.  She is among the Patriot League leaders with 69 ground balls and has added 35 draw controls and 22 caused turnovers.  Dykstra has scored three or more goals ten times this season and caused at least two turnovers in her last five contests.
