The Patriots conclude their regular-season schedule with five consecutive home games. Mason began the homestand on Sunday with a 17-16 overtime loss to William and Mary. The Patriots have lost their past three contests by a total of three goals and enter Tuesday's game with a 5-7 overall record.

The Cavaliers, coming off a week's rest, bring a 9-5 overall record into the contest. Virginia has played three games against Colonial Athletic Association schools this season, posting a 2-1 record in those games. The Cavaliers defeated William and Mary and James Madison but lost to Old Dominion.
