Coach's Reaction

"This was a great way to start off our conference games. We played a complete, well-balanced game and had nine different goal scorers. I also thought Frankie Caridi was outstanding in goal."

Turning point

Already up, 3-0, midway through the first half, the Seawolves broke the game open with a flurry of goals within the span of four minutes. Petersen dished it to Cook in front of the net for a tally at the 13:20 mark. SBU controlled the ensuing draw, and Hillier found the back of the cage just 20 ticks later to give Stony Brook a 5-0 lead.

With 10:58 remaining in the first frame, Cook fired a free position shot low and passed Charlotte Lyons as the Seawolves built a six-goal advantage, 6-0. About one minute later, Hillier spun to her left and ripped a shot into the lower left corner of the net to cap off a 7-0 game-opening surge for SBU.
