Shepherd Women Sign Six Recruits

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – Shepherd University head women's lacrosse coach Tammy Butler announced today that six student-athletes have signed letters of intent to play for the Rams in 2012.

Alyxandra Albano (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills), Georgia Karr (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty), Victoria Michel (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial), Madison O'Leary (Salisbury, MD/James M. Bennett), Lily Schmulowitz (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville), and Allison Wesley (Bowie, MD/Annapolis Area Christian School) will join the Rams for the 2012 season.

Albano lettered in lacrosse, field hockey, cross country, and basketball at Wayne Hills High School. She earned first team All-County and second team All-League lacrosse honors after scoring 13 goals and adding 21 assists at attack last season. Albano, an All-County and All-League choice in field hockey, was a member of Passaic County champion teams in lacrosse and field hockey.

Karr, who plays at attack, lettered in lacrosse and basketball at Liberty High School. A member of the county champion team for lacrosse and region basketball champion team, Karr was a second team All-Conference choice in basketball. She played for the Check-Hers Elite Lacrosse Club team.

Michel, an attack/midfielder, lettered for four years in cross country at Centennial High School. She played club lacrosse for M&D Lacrosse Club.

O'Leary, a defender, lettered in lacrosse, soccer, and field hockey at James M. Bennett High School. She played at the club level for Green Turtle. She gained "Minds in Motion" scholar athlete honors.

Schmulowitz, a goalkeeper, played lacrosse, soccer, and basketball at Catonsville High School. Schmulowitz was a multiple "Minds in Motion" scholar athlete awards winner. She is also an accomplished springboard diver.

Wesley, a defender/midfielder, lettered in lacrosse and soccer at Annapolis Area Christian School. She was a member of three IAAM soccer champion teams and was named a two-time team captain. Wesley gained Anne Arundel All-County soccer honors in 2010. She played for the Maryland United club team.
