Lock Haven Breezes Past Millersville

from press release

– The No. 4 Lock Haven University lacrosse team (3-0, 1-0 PSAC) improved to 3-0 on the year as the Lady Eagles downed visiting Millersville University (2-1, 0-1 PSAC) 16-2 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opener for both teams.

Lock Haven got another complete effort as the Lady Eagles saw 10 different players score.

Combined with The Haven's potent offensive attack, LHU's stingy defense only allowed seven Millersville shots.

Jamie Uzialko (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) and Jessica Pandolf (Holbrook, N.Y./;Sachem North) both netted hat tricks to lead the way for LHU.

Katie Zichelli (South Orange, N.J./South Orange) led the way defensively as she caused six turnovers and picked up five ground balls for LHU. Both were game-highs.

Less than five minutes into the game, Emily Cilla (Kings Park, N.Y./Kings Park) put LHU up 1-0, but Millersville quickly bounced back with a goal on a free position shot.

With the scored tied 1-1 with 22:49 left in the half, LHU found its offensive groove and rattled off 10 straight goals to close out the opening frame.

LHU led 11-1 at the break and after Millersville tacked on early second half goal, LHU scored five more times.

LHU goalie Heather Sacko (Oreland, Pa./Springfield) made four saves.

Allison Berger (Oreland, Pa./Springfield) turned a seven-point afternoon for LHU. She scored two goals and assisted five others.

The Lady Eagles return to action on Thursday, March 17 at Shippensburg.
