Crimi and No. 4 Adelphi Crush Franklin Pierce

Rindge, NH – The No. 4 Adelphi women's lacrosse team took on the Ravens of Franklin Pierce earlier this afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference contest. After jumping out to an 11-1 lead by halftime, the Brown and Gold tacked on another seven while holding the hosts scoreless in the final 30 minutes of action to notch another win, 18-1. With the win, Adelphi's record remains unblemished at 6-0, 3-0 NE-10 while Franklin Pierce falls to 1-2, 0-1 NE-10.

Devan Crimi registered yet another career high as she found the back of the cage on six occasions while dishing out two assists as well to cap an eight-point effort. She moves into 10th all-time in points (185) and is now tied for seventh all-time in assists (63).

Sara Sangiorgio continued her strong senior campaign with four goals which brings her team leading total to 29. SophomoreAlexa Froccaro had a solid outing as well with three goals and two assists while Melyssa Mathewson added four assists on the day. Danielle Jaycox and Lauren Janelli each had an even two point split while Felicia Mills, Rachel O'Brien and Rachel Aitkens rounded out the scoring with one goal each. Emily Keesling closed out the Panther point earners with one assist; her second of the year.

Jordann Dempsey saw all 60 minutes of action in the cage and recorded five stops while allowing just one goal to record her fifth victory of the season.

Madeline Shopshire registered the only goal for Franklin Pierce. Jacqueline Jolles suffered the loss in cage as she allowed all 17 goals in 53:36 minutes of action.

The Panthers outshot Franklin Pierce, 44-8, and were equally as impressive on the defensive end, scooping up more ground balls, 25-6, gaining more draw controls, 11-10, and turning the ball over just nine times while forcing 23 turnovers.

Adelphi unleashed a devastating 11-0 run in the first half which was started by Crimi's back-to-back goals in the opening five minutes. She went on to find the back of the cage five more times in the half while Froccaro and Sangiorgio added multiple goals in the 11-0 rout.

The Raven's Shopshire managed to get Franklin Pierce on the board with 3:10 left in the first, but it would be all they can manage.

Crimi again began scoring in the second; her sixth of the game sparked a 7-0 run which was capped by two from Sangiorgio and one from Froccaro once again as the Panthers closed the books on the 18-1 dominating victory.
