USL Central Championship Hits Arlington
from press release
BALTIMORE — The US Lacrosse Central Regional Championship, a three-day youth lacrosse tournament in the U11, U13 and U15 age divisions, will bring 46 boys' and girls' teams to the Harold Patterson Sports Center in Arlington, Texas, June 8-10.
The event, one of four US Lacrosse Championship youth tournaments in 2012 and part of the organization's 15th annual series of youth events, features a girls' U15 division and boys' U11, U13 and U15 divisions of play.
"The growth of lacrosse in Texas over the last decade has been impressive — we have nearly 8,500 members under age 15 in our three Texas chapters of US Lacrosse alone," said Beth Porreca, director of special events at US Lacrosse. "The US Lacrosse Central Regional Championship was a great event in Arlington in 2011, and we're looking forward to another great experience for the athletes and their families this weekend."
For each age division, competition will begin with pool play Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Based on those results, teams will be seeded for bracket play Saturday afternoon and Sunday. All four divisional championship games begin at noon Sunday. Full schedules are online at uslacrosse.org/2012regionals.
In the U15 division, the top four teams will earn automatic invitations with free or reduced registration to the US Lacrosse U15 National Championships, powered by Lacrosse Unlimited, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando July 24-26 (girls) and July 27-29 (boys). C2C Black (Texas) won the 2011 US Lacrosse Boys' U15 Central Regional Championship, while the Northern Lights (Colo.) took home the title in the girls' U15 division.
Admission and parking is free for fans.
