by Corey McLaughlin | LaxMagazine.com | Twitter

The people have spoken.

After nearly two weeks of fan voting on LaxMagazine.com, the Calvert Hall (Md.) boys and Moorestown (N.J.) girls have prevailed as Lacrosse Magazine's first annual Fan-Tasy High School national champions. Congrats to both teams, their fans and supporters, and to all of our 16 finalists on great seasons. The completed brackets for both fan-vote competitions are below.

Thanks to all that voted and participated with comments. More than 8,500 votes were cast and we had some great comments -- more than 300 for the championship games alone, a small sampling of which appear below. Check the August issue of Lacrosse Magazine for more as part of an in-depth high school season wrap issue also featuring national top 25s, regional top 10s, and national and regional players of the year for boys and girls.

George Hostetler, Lincoln University, Pa.: Perfect seasons are hard to accomplish and are remembered for a lifetime whenever players, fans and coaches gather, no matter how long ago it was accomplished.

Roxanne McDevitt, Moorestown, N.J.: Multiple high scoring attackers, rock-solid defense, and standout goalie getting even better as season neared its end.

Courtney Legath, Philadelphia, Pa.: I coach at Moorestown.

David Johnson, Hopewell Junction, N.Y.: They are dominant with a maturity and experience to handle all pressures and opponents. Great scoring ability and a shutdown defense.
