LM Northeast Region Player of the Week Jenny Thompson and No. 9-ranked Londonderry (N.H.) face a stretch of three games in five days this week, including a showdown with Duxbury.

Player of the Week

Jenny Thompson, Londonderry (N.H.)
The junior midfielder had 10 goals in wins over Nashua North (N.H.), Nashua South (N.H.) and South Windsor (Conn.).

Northeast Region Top 10

1. Garden City (N.Y.) – 8-0 – The Trojans return from an 11-day layoff when they host North Shore (N.Y.) on Wednesday.

2. Farmingdale (N.Y.) – 7-1 – Jamie Leone leads an offense that's scored 11 more goals in each game.

3. St. Anthony's (N.Y.) – 7-1 – Games in Maryland later this week against national powers Good Counsel and McDonogh will be big tests for the Friars.

4. West Genesee (N.Y.) – 7-0 – Kara Dattellas, Katey Hart and Melanie Murphy have been coming up big on offense for the Wildcats.

5. Fox Lane (N.Y.) – 9-0 – A 10-9 win against Lakeland/Panas (N.Y.) was the biggest of the season so far for the Foxes.

6. Northport (N.Y.) – 7-1 – The Tigers fell 18-13 to Maryland power Good Counsel.

7. Wantagh (N.Y.) – 8-1 – The Warriors fell for the first time last week, dropping a 14-10 decision to Farmingdale.

8. Westwood (Mass.) – 7-0 – Perennially strong Duxbury (Mass.) will be a big test for the Wolverines.

9. Londonderry (N.H.) – 4-0 – The Lancers will play three games in five days this week.

10. Greenwich Academy (Conn.) – 7-1 – A 9-8 win over Wilton marked the Warriors' only loss of the season.

Game of the Week

Duxbury (Mass.) at Londonderry (N.H.) – Saturday, April 30, 11 a.m.
Two of the top programs in New England collide in this one. Londonderry enters the game on a 41-game win streak. The Lancers' last loss came against another Massachusetts team, Framingham, early in the 2009 season. Londonderry is led defensively by goaltender Crystalle Parent and on offensive by junior Jenny Thompson. Duxbury has not lost since dropping its season opener to Wellesley (Mass.). The Dragons, under first-year coach Kelly Jurgens, are led by Boston University-bound defender Siobhan McCarthy as well as fellow seniors Charlotte Cipolletti (defense) and Keri Gould (attack).

News and Notes

A goal by Kendall Gough with six seconds remaining gave South Side (N.Y.) a 14-13 win over North Shore (N.Y.)... Corrine O'Connor had three goals and an assist to lead Brunswick (Maine) to a 9-8 win over Cony (Maine)... Claire Dickson made 10 saves for Darien (Conn.) as the Blue Wave held on for an 8-7 win over rival Greenwich (Conn.). Jena Fritts and Brynn Gasparino each had two goals for Darien. Claire Feeney and Tori Dunster each had three goals for the Cardinals. ... Trish Gorman, a junior at Hackley (N. Y.) scored her 100th varsity goal in an 18-11 loss to Riverdale Country Day.
