Madison, Wis., Named Host of 2013 US Lacrosse Central Championships

USL to bring U11, U13 and U15 boys' and girls' event to Reddan Soccer Park

from press release

BALTIMORE — US Lacrosse today named Reddan Soccer Park in Madison, Wis., site of the 2013 US Lacrosse Central Championships, a three-day youth lacrosse tournament for boys' and girls' teams in the U11, U13 and U15 age divisions. Event dates will be June 14-16, 2013, and teams may register online at uslacrosse.org beginning on or about Sept. 10, 2012.

"The US Lacrosse membership includes nearly than 30,000 players under age 15 in what the sports world calls 'Big 10 Country,'" said Beth Porreca, director of special events at US Lacrosse. "Reddan Soccer Park is an outstanding complex for youth lacrosse. Madison is a charming, attractive city with ideal weather in June. All that makes Wisconsin a great choice for the 2013 US Lacrosse Central Championships."

Reddan Soccer Park is a 60-acre complex that includes four lighted fields, a permanent concession stand, and parking for 1,200 cars. The complex is just 20 minutes from Dane County Regional Airport, and Madison is easily accessible from Interstates 90, 94, and 39.

"We are honored to be able to host the 2013 US Lacrosse Central Championships," said Jamie Patrick, director of sports sales and program development for the Madison Area Sports Commission (MASC). "Lacrosse has seen phenomenal growth in our area, and MASC is thrilled to be partnering with US Lacrosse and its chapter here, the Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation, on the central championships."

Team registration fees remain unchanged from the 2012 US Lacrosse Regional Championships: $1,000 for a U11 team, $1,250 for a U13 team, and $1,350 for a U15 team. Up to 24 players and four coaches/chaperones may comprise each team, resulting in a per-player cost as low as $42. In the U15 division, the top four teams in Madison will earn automatic invitations with free or reduced registration to the July 2013 US Lacrosse U15 National Championships, powered by Lacrosse Unlimited, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando.

The 2013 US Lacrosse Central Championships will represent part of the organization's 16th annual series of youth events. US Lacrosse youth tournaments allow the organization's national membership to compete with class, honor the game, and build relationships with teammates and opponents alike.
