MLL Announces All-Star Game Rosters

from press release

Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, has announced those players who have been selected to play in the eighth annual Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game, which takes place at Denver's INVESCO Field at Mile High on Thursday, July 16th.
While the League has implemented an "East" vs. "West" format for the past two seasons, this year's game will return to the popular "Old School" vs. "Young Guns" format which was featured in the 2005 All-Star Game, which also took place in Denver.  The "Young Guns" squad is comprised of players from the 2007-2009 classes, while the "Old School" squad will be made up by those players from the classes prior to and including 2006.
The Denver Outlaws and Toronto Nationals lead all teams with 8 players apiece named to the All-Star Game.
Denver attackman Brendan Mundorf, who currently leads the League in scoring with 24 points, along with midfielders Brian Langtry and Kyle Harrison, and defenseman Lee Zink will represent the Outlaws on the "Old School" team, while attackman Drew Westervelt, rookie midfielder Max Seibald, defenseman Matt Bocklett, and goalie Jesse Schwartzman will suit up for the "Young Guns". Denver Head Coach Brian Reese and his assistant coaches Trevor Tierney and Bill Edell will coach the "Old School" team.
For Toronto, midfielder Joe Walters and defenseman Brodie Merrill will take the field for the "Old School", and attackman Merrick Thomson, midfielders Jordan Levine and Jordan Hall, defensemen Joe Cinosky and rookie Sid Smith, as well as goaltender Brett Queener will represent the Nationals on the "Young Guns" side of the field. Toronto Head Coach Dave Huntley will coach the "Young Guns" team. Chicago Machine Head Coach John Combs will serve as the Assistant Coach.
The Boston Cannons, Chicago Machine, and Long Island Lizards are each represented with 6 players in the game, while the Washington Bayhawks will be sending 4 players to Denver. The complete rosters are listed below.
In addition to the game, there are several fun activities and events planned in and around the Denver area in the days leading up to the Game. On Wednesday July 15th, MLL players, coaches, and staff will be at Skyline Park along the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver from 11 AM to 1 PM MT to teach fans about the game of lacrosse, participate in shooting games and much more. Later in the day, join your favorite MLL All-Stars for a Long Drive Competition at Green Valley Ranch Country Club. A $50 entry allows for 5 drives against an All-Star. Each contestant will receive 2 tickets to the All-Star Game and proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club. A Media Event is also planned for the evening.
On Thursday, fans will have the opportunity to lunch with select MLL All-Stars at the Brown Palace Hotel. The All-Star Game Fan Fair will begin at 4:30 PM MT on Sports Legends Mall outside INVESCO Field followed by a tree planting ceremony with MLL Founder Jake Steinfeld, Esurance, The Park People, members of the Denver Outlaws and their staff, several youth lacrosse teams and select MLL All-Stars. Further details for these events will be announced in the coming weeks.
The 2009 Major League Lacrosse All-Star Game begins at 10 PM ET/ 8 PM MT and will be broadcast live on ESPN2 with Joe Beninati and Quint Kessenich calling the action. Halftime will include the Bud Light Skills Competition. Participants for the Skills Competition events will be announced at a later date.
