Tavares Named NLL Player of the Week

John Tavares was named the Overall Player of the Week in the National Lacrosse League for the games played on the weekend. 

The Buffalo Bandits forward scored six goals and tallied three assists as Buffalo defeated Boston 15-11, and clinched a playoff berth last weekend.

Three San Jose Stealth players were honored for their efforts in an 18-8 home win over Minnesota last weekend.  Colin Doyle, Tyler Richards and Rhys Duch were named Offensive, Defensive and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

Brodie Merrill of the Portland LumberJax was named Transition Player of the Week.  Merrill recorded eight points and 22 loose balls in a pair of games last weekend.
