Neil Stevens' Team-by-Team NLL Season Preview

by Neil Stevens | LaxMagazine.com

The National Lacrosse League begins a new season Sunday, when Calgary heads to Toronto, and figuring out where the nine teams will stack up is a real brain teaser.

There are so many factors to consider: the world's premier indoor pro circuit has shrunk to nine teams, which means veterans are being squeezed off rosters by new talent from a deep entry draft; many stars have changed teams; and rules have been tweaked to speed up play and stimulate scoring.

Here's our stab at it all, with teams listed where we project they'll be sitting following their 16-game schedule in 2012.

1. Toronto Rock

2. Philadelphia Wings

3. Buffalo Bandits

4. Rochester Knighthawks

1. Washington Stealth

2. Calgary Roughnecks

3. Colorado Mammoth

4. Edmonton Rush

5. Minnesota Swarm
