TURKU, Finland – About the only problem the U.S. under-19 men's national team had Sunday was that starting attackman Matt Kavanagh left his cleats on the bus on the way to the game. Fortunately, that same bus later picked up the English national team, and who scooped up the footwear under the seat? English starting goalie Mike Connor, who handed the kicks to Kavanagh, but then had to deal with him and the rest of Team USA's offense.

The U.S. cruised over England, 20-1, on Sunday in its third pool play game at the Federation of International Lacrosse U19 World Championships, rebounding soundly from an 11-9 overtime loss to Canada 24 hours earlier.

Attackman Kyle Keenan scored a team-high four goals and Kavanagh had two goals and two assists as 12 different players found the back of the net at least once. The U.S. scored the game's first 11 goals.

"We wanted to get back to our game," Keenan said. "In the Canada game, we felt like they dictated the tempo of play. We wanted to dominate this game and put the game in our hands.

"Offensively, we were looking for one more pass and to have long possessions and find the right time to push it and the right time to have the long possessions," Keenan said. "That's something we struggled with [Saturday]."

Kyle Turri played all 80 minutes in net, making six saves, while Zach Oliveri got the day off. The pair has typically split halves here and in previous exhibition play. Connor, the English goalie who did the U.S. a favor, made a few impressive stops and finished with 13 saves before being lifted for the fourth quarter.

"We wanted to get out and run the field the way we like to," USA coach Tim Flynn said. "The kids came out flying with good attitude and went after things the right way."

Going forward, the U.S. (2-1) has its first off day on Monday since it began tournament play on Friday. It faces the Iroquois (1-1) at 1 p.m. local time (6 a.m. EST) in Turku on Tuesday in its final pool play game of the competition. In other "Blue Division" play on Sunday, the Iroquois fell to undefeated Canada, 11-9. Canada (3-0) plays England (1-2) and the Iroquois play Australia (0-2) on Monday.

The top two finishers in the division receive byes to the semifinals on Thursday, while third and fourth place will each play a quarterfinal game on Wednesday.
